Fluid Bed Dryer Works on Fluidization

Introduction

Fluid bed dryer is widely used by pharmaceutical, chemical and foodstuff industries. It is used to dry materials with hot air and the process are called fluidization. The fluid bed dryer is constructed using S.S. 304 quality stainless steel material. The machine contains a horizontal bed where the fluid is lying for fluidization.

How it works?

In fluid bed dryer, the hot air inserted into the container using air blower. The air is heated using steam or gas at the bottom of the machine. As the air heated the material, it moves and expands in the container at a certain velocity and retain the turbulence in the product. The heat transfer is extremely high and uniform and the product dried fast without appreciable loss of heat.

Suitability

The fluid bed dryer requires less space compared to other dryers. It is very easy to operate and you can dried the material in a very less time. So, it gives high production rates. The fluid bed dryer is most suitable for drying granular, crystalline, coarse or similar material in pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, dyes, food and allied products. It is not suitable for drying liquids or pasty materials.
