Working of Plate and Frame Filter Press

Plate and Frame Filter Press

Working:

The plate and frame filter press is manufactured using high quality stainless steel and material. It is designed to remove the liquids from liquid solid slurry and particularly suitable for low solids. The structure of plate and frame filter press is fully designed with pump and pipe lines connected with each other. The liquid is entered at the bottom of the press with giving pressure using pump. The liquids travel the path which has filter media inserted between the plates. There is a gap between plates and now it is filled with liquid slurry, as the liquids passes through the filter media and travels up to outlet port of the press. This liquid is pure and the solid remains between the plates.

This type of filter press machine is used to filter the thin liquids like wine, chemicals, solvent liquids and many more. The machine is widely used in pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, food processing industry, cosmetic industry and beverages industry. These all industries manufactured liquid solid slurry and they need to filter their product and make it pure to use. The large plate and frame filter press machine has plate shifters to move the plates. The solid between the plates is removing by giving blow with pumps.

Technical Specification:

The machine is available in different models which have different size of plates and frames. The filter plates can increase with N number of plates. The filtered liquid stored in cake which can also increase as per volume of the liquids. The most used size of filter plates are 20 X 20, 40 X 40 and 60 X 60 in cm X cm.
